DOLE D.O. 217-20: Rules and Regulations Governing Recruitment and Placement of Domestic Workers by Private Employment Agencies for Local Employment

On October 27, 2020, the Department Of Labor and Employment issued Department Order No. 216-20 entitled Rules and Regulations Governing Recruitment and Placement of Domestic Workers by Private Employment Agencies for Local Employment to regulate and recognize the participation of the private sector in the recruitment and placement of workers for local employment through a registration and licensing system.

It also recognizes the need to protect the rights of the Kasambahay against abuse, harassment, violence, economic exploitation and performance of work that is hazardous to their physical and mental health as well as to ensure safe and healthful working conditions, promote gender-sensitive measures in the formulation and implementation of policies and programs affecting local domestic work.
